Teachers
Although there has been much criticism of Jamaica's teachers, both in their own times and since, they were responsible for giving many generations of Jamaicans the skills needed to make their way in the world, some of them very successfully. Over the years I have found information on a growing list of teachers, both ones born here, and others who came from elsewhere, who in many cases gave their whole working lives to extending educational opportunities to a cross-section of Jamaican children.
